Rev. Ayla Samson is a lifelong Christian and a United Methodist Clergy.
Rev. Ayla Samson, received her B.A. degree from the University of Punjab (Pakistan), her Master’s Degree in Theological Studies from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago, and completed a Post-Graduate Course work (TH.M.) at Maryknoll School of Theology in New York. Rev. Ayla Samson is also a graduate of the Institute of Congregational Development.
Rev. Ayla Samson has a passion for, and many years of experience in, children and youth ministries. She is also passionate about Bible study, small group ministry, as well as Intergenerational Ministry (Ministry to all generations). Rev. Ayla Samson is a Team builder and a collaborative leader who is committed to working with the congregation to help bring added growth and vitality. She is also committed to working with the congregation to reach out to its community in new and effective ways.
Rev. Ayla Samson currently serves as the Secretary of the National Asian American and Pacific Islander Clergy Women Association (AAPIC UMC). She also serves as a member of the Northern Illinois Conference Nominations Committee.
Rev. Ayla Samson is married to Rev. Dr. Zaki L. Zaki. They have five children: their son, Khalid, who will graduate in May 2017 from Valparaiso University (Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Math), daughter Nura who will also graduate in May 2017 from Valparaiso University (Political Science/Pre-law), daughter Mariam who is a first-year student at Valparaiso University (pre-Med), daughter Isis who is a graduating High School senior, and daughter Myra who will graduate in June from Emerson Middle School.
